Snack Time

April 24, 2009

James defines his day around Snack Time. So do I, because this is when he is unable to pursue his quest for ball point pens, remote controls, and the toilet. I used to be able to wash a dish or write a blog post while he ate but now James insists on using this time to teach me valuable Snacking lessons.

This is called “waiting patiently”. It is important that you intersperse this behavior with high pitched whining and desperate yet unintelligible requests. Otherwise no one will know what you want.

This is called “gratitude”. Gratitude makes the Snack Provider less aware that you are wasting his or her time.

This is called “something better.” Sometimes someone else near by will also be snacking. His or her snack probably tastes better. Even if it looks exactly the same as yours.

This is called “sharing.” Make sure that your snack is already partially digested so that the recipient knows it tastes really good.

This is called “sharing harder.” Sometimes the recipient will say things like, “no thanks,” or “I already ate” etc. This is a bluff.

This is the oven. DO NOT TOUCH THE OVEN.

The Snack Provider likes to know that you have properly chewed the snack. Giving him or her visual confirmation is helpful.

When Snack Time appears to be winding down, consume all remaining snacks immediately. You never know when you’ll see Snack Time again.

Aww~~ Jame is too cute for words. Especially the pictures Jame is yawning and covering his mouth are sooo cute.

Does he often share his food with you?
Jude…? hmmm… Sometimes he shares his food with me but not very often.

The other day I asked him to share a piece of his fruit with me.
He stared at me for awhile and picked it up slowly (—>I thought he was going to give his fruit to me and I was ready to say ‘good boy, you are my son!). Then put it into his mouth and he was chewing it with making noise ‘yum~yum~yum~~(very joyful sound).’
Did he want to play with me? , too smart? or….. just too innocent?
    You, decide!

    We miss you guys.
    Hope to see you soon.

Great photos! James is the baby of 1000 faces – and they are all pretty adorable.

I love your blog. Your son is really very handsome. He is a great combination of his parents. Thank you for being so funny and sharing the joys of parenting with me. Perhaps one day I will get to meet your lovely boy and you can meet mine.

    Have a great week!
