Once Upon a Basement.

Once upon a time Claire and J.D. lived in a 1970’s split level basement for two years which was probably filled with radon. This was not even a money saving sacrifice since J.D. eventually began signing over his pay cheques to Yukon Electric from October through April.

Claire and J.D. launched their teaching careers from that basement. Their first born son was brought home to that basement. This might have caused Claire and J.D. to pause and have fond memories when they finally began packing all their stupid basement stuff to move into a house. But extended exposure to radon is inadvisable and so, they did not pause. Also, they were too busy fighting because moving is right underneath divorce on the list of stressful life situations. Moving *with a toddler* may actually boost it to the top of the list. That’s right, even above death.

Claire and J.D. will hopefully live happily ever after – always ON TOP of a basement. Never again IN one.

The End.

YAY you made it through your first move. I have to say moving from Victoria to Fort Nelson was good timing because Sebastian was only 4 months old and we had gramma and grampa to help!! I do not envy you for moving with a toddler- but congratulations for getting out of a basement. Hope you are enjoying your summer 🙂

Good luck with your move!! Let me know you live a block away from us and you can come over to our very toddler friendly house! (well, with the exception of the lego)
