Judge me, please.

December 9, 2009

J.D. pointed out that someone should probably leave a judgmental comment on the last post regarding the fact that I quite clearly left both boys on the counter minus direct supervision while I snapped photos of Christmas ornaments. Please, someone, show me you care.

Also, to the woman who reprimanded me for allowing James to touch the baggage conveyor at the airport last year: Thank you. I have this problem where I sometimes think that exploratory learning is more important than avoiding life or death situations.

I almost forgot. I also wrapped electrical cords around their necks and then took a photo while James stuck a light bulb in his eye.

I will not judge you because then I will have to apologise. However, I have a slightly similar story. When dave was teaching highschool, one of his colleagues sent us a similar reject-decor bag. Some of the decorations were wrapped little boxes that I was meant to scatter around the house as faux presents. This does not go over well with two children under two. Thus, one afternoon I found all the little boxes unwrapped and lying in a heap on the floor. I began to pick up the mess and noticed that one of the boxes, when shaken, seemed to contain something. Something = emerald earrings. I called the school and returned them. The owner seemd rather unperturbed by the whole thing and I did judge her – way too much money. Oops.

Instead of judging, I think I’ll use this post as inspiration to post one of my “Norah and the open flame” photos. Seriously.

Just wait a sec…gotta get this log out of my eye.

Just because I don’t have photos of very small children sitting on top of the kitchen pantry doesn’t mean anything. Wait! We have videos of very small children sitting in the bucket of the tractor when it’s moving. Does that count?

The only difference between you and me is that you took photos and posted them on your blog. How have I endangered my children’s lives lately? I’ll never tell….
