To-Do

December 16, 2010

Beside me is the mother of all to-do lists. A blog post is not on this list.  Neither is a shower but I had one of those too.

We leave the Yukon in four and a half days. Tomorrow is J.D.’s last day of work…

For eight months! (cue fireworks and other happy displays. A live orchestra would be nice)

Thanks to Jasper and Yukon government employees paternity leave allowances, we are going somewhere else and not working for the rest of the school year. Where? That is a great question and if you have any ideas, please share. It must be a place warmer than here. This is not a difficult qualifier to satisfy. Prince George? Oh, and it must be affordable. A campground in Prince George?

Anyway, there are renovations and packing and paperwork to fill every waking moment until we leave on Tuesday. On good days, I have been able to accomplish half a to-do list item.

I can’t wait until all these babies we’re having can be the targets of delegation.

Holy COW! I’m envious – but what a great opportunity, given that you also just BOUGHT a HOUSE. Wow. Can’t wait to hear where you guys venture off to…

This may become somewhat of a travel blog. Hopefully not one full of psycho stories that make you glad it’s US travelling with babies and not you.

Wanna come live with us? Wow Claire, what great news! So does the Yukon subsidize the rest or a portion of JD’s salary? That is so awesome for you guys! I’m all over the place, I have no words, so great!

JD gets EI plus a top up from the gov’t to 93% of his salary for 18 weeks. The remaining weeks are just EI. I would fully support/endorse a transfer here for Jordan if you guys plan on making more babies (which you totally should. Robinson babies are too cute not to make)

Now I’m having paternity-leave envy. Barry’s Bay is very affordable and our basement is open.

There’s lots of room in the Yukon for you and your babies, plus the five more you plan on having (right? right!) And if we somehow manage to pull off a camper van and drive thousands of kilometers with two small children who hate their car seats, we may just pop in!

Well good, we will for surely have to catch up and meet him when he is a bit bigger….I hope that everything goes very well for your trip. I vaguely remember some posts from when Jasper was a baby and driving with him the car seat, some contortionist moves for feeding purposes etc. I am sure if there is a couple that can do a camper van trip successfully with two kids under 3 it is you two. I can’t wait to keep up on the going-ons of the Caudles! Take care have a happy holidays and a happy out of the Yukon family vacation!
