Fun Uncle

We visited J.D.’s brother Nathan at his  apartment this afternoon which is also an outback style zoo. He’s got Mickey the python, a couple of scorpions, a lizard, a tarantula, two turtles and a goldfish who managed to escape and outgrow feeder fish status. James spent most of his time there running away in fits of terrified giggles.

Nathan managed to briefly convince him that the snake would likely not swallow him whole. It’s kind of interesting how we seem to be born with the knowledge that scaly slithery things are going to murder us. Small things that fly are also inherently dangerous in James’ mind. I have watched him scream at dust floating in the air.

I wish my eldest had inherited your eldest’s healthy fear of potentially dangerous critters. We took her to a reptile museum, and she got right down on the floor to pet the 12-foot constrictor. This was after she “tickled” the scorpion, and made friends with several other slimy, crawly, nasty things.

Too funny, Sebastian used to yell at the dust in the air too…thought it was coming to get him or something- not to sure! ❤

maybe they like to see it swirl from the gusts of air the yells produce?
