Orange Underwear

September 11, 2011

I tried teaching James some knock knock jokes today and this is how it went:

Me: Okay James. I’m going to say “knock knock” and you’re going to say “who’s there?” It’s going to be a joke.

James: Is it going to be really funny?

Me: Yes. Knock knock.

James: What?

Me: Say “Who’s there.”

James: Who’s there?

Me: Mickey Mouses’s underwear!

James: *blank stare*

Me: Okay let’s try a new one. Knock knock.

James: Knock knock.

Me: No, say “Whose there?”

James: *blank stare*

Me: Orange. Now say “orange who?”

James: What?! Orange underwear!? HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Here are a few “fall” photos I took a couple of weeks ago. Fall is kind of old news for us. We scraped our first windshield ice on August 31st. I hear the rest of y’all are sweltering. Congratulations.

I just have to share my knock knock joke with you…

    Knock Knock

    Who’s there?

    Owls.

    Owls Who?

    Yes they do!

Lachlan will tell the joke with conviction…he doesn’t get it though. His follow-ups….not to so good…he will do the whole bit….then when you say..”who’s there?” he will look around the room, and whatever he sees first will be his reply…the punchline then…not so funny. 🙂

I *really* want to tell James the owl joke but I am holding off until there is even a remote chance that he will get it. Grade 2?
