Pirate Fail

October 21, 2011

James’ friend Elijah stopped by with his mum’s latest Supper Co-op installment and he stayed to play. We decided to turn James’ bed into a pirate ship and bury some treasure in the living room couch cushions. I coached the boys on an appropriate pirate demeanor before we set sail. I will give them credit for trying to look dangerous but James looks more embarrassed that I’m making them wear old coloring pages on their heads  and Elijah, well, we’ll just pretend he got into the barrels of Pirate rum.

Pirate etiquette was maintained until the flesh-eating dragon came on the scene. We lured it into a chair cave with a trail of raisins and then the boys decided that it was actually a sweet little baby dragon named Cutie-Punk who just wanted to go home to his mommy. OH C’MON.

Elijah later managed to redeem his pirate self by filling our treasure chest with decapitated lego heads.

I have to say, I am very jealous that you got that ikea bed set, I was trying desperately to get that for Lachlan, Ikea doesn’t make it anymore, I had every person I knew in cities across western canada going to ikea in search of it, no luck! (the next best thing I found was almost 200$ for the set, so needless to say, we settled for something that looks nothing like that one) 🙂
