Washed Out

June 12, 2012

Since I last checked in, three inconvenient things have happened.

1) All of us ( minus J.D. but his day is coming) contracted the president of head colds.

2) Jasper discovered that it is possible to wake up EVEN EARLIER than five am. Who knew?

3) The Alaska Highway got washed out in both directions, effectively cutting off our food and tourist supply.

I am deprived of  health, sleep, and bananas so I give you a few photos. You can make up the captions.

There is a photo in this bunch that is going to haunt Jasper for the rest of his life…

Hoping your banana (and fresh produce) supply is replenished very soon – that store looks frighteningly empty.

On another note, it appears the boys are prepping for their summer camping adventures, and Jasper certainly is a boy of many faces!

Hoping you all feel better soon and get some rest (I’m sure the two are linked!)

My friend Faith went to survey the situation and she came back with four bananas that were not entirely brown. Victory!

Hope they are able to get the highway repaired soon. I’m sure you would happily do without the tourists, but food is non-negotiable. Love the pics with the indoor camping and roasting marshmallows over the ‘fire’. You are one extremely imaginative Mom.

The washout happened because of the torrentially wet weather we’ve been having. (Indoor camping and felt fires/marshmallows are also a direct result.)

Love all the photos. The one of the empty shelves is particularly haunting. The campfire pics are particularly wonderful. I’m going to do that in front of my TV.

The eyes, the eyes! They are beautiful, and he can do some pretty wacky things with them, too. 🙂 How did you get the campfire to stand up straight? Felt is so floppy. I hope the inconveniences right themselves soon.

Pipe cleaners! I hot glued them in between the flames. As for the inconveniences – we now have bananas. That is all.

Love the photo of JD, “The Thinker” … the expressions on the little guys faces are s-o-o-O comical! Love to all!
