Twin Lakes

July 28, 2012

We went on our first camping trip of the season a few weeks ago with some friends. I had forgotten about the filth and how you arrive at your chosen campsite, open the doors, and OH LOOK: The kids are now unrecognizable because they are so dirty. Once I stopped harassing everyone with wipes, it was pretty fun.

We had to start a fire because Jasper kept using the ash-filled pit as a place to keep his stuff, including his hands.  He wasn’t too discouraged. There are plenty of inappropriate places to play at a campground. Lucky for him, our site had a convenient path leading directly to the outhouses.

James ran down to the lake and yelled “The OCEAN!” Jasper followed close behind screeching, “PUDDLE!”  Don’t be so glass-half-empty, Jasper.

Our first canoe ride as a family of four. It went a little better than our first canoe ride as a family of three. Jasper was cool as long as he was suspended over the side of the canoe by his life jacket

Wonderful pictures! The boys are obviously having such a great time (and it looks like the parents are as well)! They will be real pros by the time they’re ready for cubs and boy scouts!…ha,ha, it will be ‘a piece of cake’ by then! Such super parents, JD and Claire!

We love the picture of James pitching stones into the water….the typical “manly” thing to do just for the “fun of it”!!
